How Much Can a Company Claim from HRDC for Team Building or Training?

Understanding the financial aspect of HRDC claims is crucial to maximizing your training investments. Here’s a breakdown of what you can claim for team building and training events:

Training Fee

1. Maximum of 35 pax per group:

HRDC mandates a maximum of 35 participants per training group. If your team exceeds this number, don’t worry—we can organize multiple groups simultaneously to accommodate everyone.

2. Claimable amount per group (35 pax):

Below outlines the claimable amount for training fee.

  • Half day: RM3,000
  • Full day: RM6,000
  • 2D1N (Half day + Full day): RM9,000

For sessions with 5 pax or less per group, the claimable training fee will be pro-rated.

Other Claimable Items

Besides the training fee (amount to be used for training course, or team building program), HRDC also provides claimable options for the following items: 

1. Trainee and Trainer Allowance

This item can be used for fees such as venue rental, accommodation and F&B.

  • Venues less than 100 km: RM150/full day/pax

  • Venues more than 100 km: RM400/full day/pax

For sessions shorter than a full day, the trainee allowance will be pro-rated. For example, a half-day event at a venue less than 100 km away will have a claimable amount of RM75/half day/pax.

2. Transportation Claim

Eligible for claim as per the quotation provided. Ensure all necessary documentation is in place to make the most of your claim.

Important Note:

To be eligible for HRDC claims, participants must be Malaysians under full-time employment with your company. This ensures that the investment in training directly benefits your workforce and contributes to the growth of local talent.
