In Bridge the Divide, your team will face one clear obstacle: a physical gap between two sides. With limited time and materials, you’ll work together to engineer a bridge that spans the divide—and actually supports a small vehicle from start to finish.
But this challenge goes deeper than just duct tape and popsicle sticks. Designed by Braver Strides, this hands-on experience is a metaphor for the real gaps teams face every day: between departments, personalities, perspectives, or communication styles. And like in real life, bridging that gap means combining ideas, trusting each other, and solving problems under pressure.

HOW BRIDGE THE GAP WORKS
🪵 Get Your Mission Brief
Each team is presented with the same challenge: build a freestanding bridge using limited materials that spans a set distance and can support a rolling vehicle from one side to the other.
🎯 Plan, Prototype, Problem-Solve
Before building, teams must strategize: who’s designing? Who’s leading the build? How do you balance strength with creativity, speed with accuracy?
🛠️ Construct Under Constraints
You’ll use basic supplies like sticks, string, tape, and boards—no fancy engineering tools here. Just teamwork, resourcefulness, and a whole lot of hustle.
🚗 Test the Bridge
Once the bridges are built, it’s test time. Can your vehicle make it across without crashing? Bonus points for style, innovation, and team cohesion.
🤝 Reflect & Connect
Wrap up with a short debrief that links the challenge back to the workplace—how your team communicated, problem-solved, and literally bridged the divide.
